It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

Outside

Snowflakes were drifting down as I took the photo of the front of our house.   It may not be as spectacular as The Edsel/Eleanor Ford House or Meadow Brook Hall that I recently blogged about, but this is our 'mansion' and we're very content and grateful to live here.

Inside

I've been very busy "Decking the Halls" and I'm almost done.

I've had the ceramic Christmas tree [below] for over 35 years.  At one time  they were  the rage, and adorned so many homes.  I still enjoy mine, and bring it out every year.

No presents under the Christmas Tree yet - wrapping gifts is on the agenda for later today!

My hubby made the toy soldier many years ago, and he comes out every Christmas.  The church and houses on the mantel are Departmet 56 and Thomas Kinkade.  I reserve the mantel for them since they aren't tea houses [those are displayed on top of the bookcases].  The Christmas Card basket is new this year from Hobby Lobby.  The fabric liner is tea themed.

The Jim Shore Santa holding a teapot and teacup is new this year too.    I noticed several of my tea blogging friends have one also.

I started collecting Santa Bears in the 1980's and finally stopped four years ago.   How many Santa Bears can you display at one time? ;-)  They used to go on top of the bookcases, but my lighted tea houses have replaced them.  These two are dated 1991 and 1992.

Lighted ceramic Christmas Tea Houses lining the top of the bookcases.

This year's tea house is on the left in the photo below - Melinda's Scone and Tea Shop.
To view all the tea houses click here for an earlier post about them.

This teapot plays music.

Now we've left the Family Room and are in the Dining Area.

When the kids were home, I used these snowmen dishes for our Christmas brunch every year.  Maybe I'll use them again this Christmas for just hubby and me!

And last but not least, the Living Room entryway.

Thank you for viewing my 2012 Christmas decorations.   Wishing all of my followers and readers a very Merry Christmas.   May God bless you each one as we celebrate the birth of His Son, Jesus.    He IS the reason for the season!  Luke 2:1-20

  2. How fun seeing all your "goodies". I have some things I have had a long time too. This morning I noticed the little Charlie Brown book on my coffee table was from 1964 when I was in 10th grade!! I love your village houses up on top the bookcases! Thanks for linking to "Open House".
