2012 Ladies' Christmas Tea

Happy December!
For five years [always on the first Saturday of December], I have coordinated a Christmas Tea for the ladies of my church.   2012's tea was this past Saturday, December 1st.
It was held at Enchantment Banquet Facility.

The room was decorated beautifully for Christmas.
Originally, I was going make things a little easier by having the hall set the tables, and I would only have to provide the centerpieces and placemats.
That changed, however, when one of the young moms approached me about hostessing a table.   I have a soft spot in my heart for young women who have an interest in tea and hospitality and always want to encourage them.
Because of Kim's [left] enthusiasm, there were seven hostess tables this year, and two set by the hall.
Kim's theme was Cookie Delight and her table was adorable.
The favors for Kim's guests.
First place table.
Gorgeous China!
The table below was set by two sisters who are also young moms.
As you can tell by many of the centerpieces, the theme of the tea was angels.
This was my table.
My daughter, Lori, and me.
The two tables without hostesses were set like this.
Buffet Table with Cheese & Crackers, Fresh Fruit, Veggies & Dip, and Salads.
Main entree was Chicken Marsala and Farfalle Alfredo.
Gourmet Mini Cupcakes were Dessert.  The tea served was Harney & Son's most popular flavored black tea - Hot Cinnamon Spice.

A good time was had by all and it was the perfect way to begin the month of December!
In the sixth month, God sent the angel, Gabriel, to Nazareth, a town in Galilee to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David.  The virgin's name was Mary.  The angel went to her and said, "Greetings, you who are highly favored!  The Lord is with you."  Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be.  But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God.  You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus.  He will be great and will be called the Son of the most High.  The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end."   Luke 1:26-33

  1. Beautiful tables! What fun, thank you for sharing this with us.

  2. Beautiful! Another tea well done.

  3. All the tables are just gorgeous, and I particularly enjoyed seeing yours! Looks like you continue to just outdo yourself!

  4. I love the idea of different people decorating the tables and they all look nice. A most enjoyable tea for sure.

  5. What a lovely idea and love the different tables and their themes. They are gorgeous! A great way to create community!

    Merry Christmas :)

  6. What a wonderful tea, Phyllis! I love seeing young moms get involved in tea times. I never liked tea because my poor mother made the worst tea ever which really turned me off on it. But then a number of years ago, I discovered there was a whole world of different teas out there from organic to flavoured and I was smitten. Now tea is my beverage of choice. Those tables look lovely and I'm certain you all had a fabulous time. Nice to see a picture of you and your daughter too. Thanks so much for sharing this special tea time with us and have a beautiful week. Merry Christmas!

  7. Wonderful! I have enjoyed your postings about past years as well. If you have willing young ladies, what else can you do? It's always wonderful to pass on the tea tradition and you do it so beautifully! Thanks for sharing the tea and linking to Tuesday Cuppa Tea!

  8. Kudos on another successful and beautiful themed tea. What a lovely tradition for your group.

  9. Your table setting was spectacular, and so were the others. I always enjoy those ladies teas.

  10. I must say I would have a difficult time picking a favorite table. They are all beautiful! You do and host the most lovely teas. I enjoy doing my one a Christmas and one at Easter and then that is it. They are all so much work, but we do get into the spirit of things, don't we? Love your spirit with tea!

  11. I've decided to feature your post in my weekly link up.
