Our family will be dining out on Easter Sunday this year, but I decided to set an Easter tablescape for a virtual tea party for my blog readers. I bought the bunny plates at Mervyn's in 1994. Do any of you remember that store?
After I got the table all set, I realized I could have used my pink depression glass dinner plates as chargers, and the coordinating teacups and saucers [Sharon pattern] instead of the bunny mugs, but since it's Easter I decided to let the bunnies stay!
It was fun to see these dishes again. Our family has grown in size since I purchased them, so they don't get used much anymore.
A lemon "basket cake" is a perfect Easter dessert. The photo is a cake I made for a previous Easter dinner. I think a pot of second flush Darjeeling tea would accompany this cake nicely.
While looking at old Easter photos I came across two that I just have to share. They're of my two granddaughters. At the time they were almost two and three years old. [Soon they'll be 16 and 17.] I'd sure like to know what Brianna was telling Marissa that captivated her attention. Her expression is priceless!
It wouldn't be Easter without Easter bonnets, and here are the girls again a couple of years later.
Wishing Everyone a Glorious Easter Because of our Risen Savior!
Doesn't time fly by- and what a lovely table you set!
ReplyDeleteFun to see your table scape and your grand daughters. I have a first grandbaby coming in September, but have been informed I cannot show pictures on my blog. I love seeing peoples grandchildren and children. Happy Easter to you! We will be having our annual Easter Tea.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter to you and your family!
ReplyDeleteCharming! I loved getting to see the pretty tablescape as well as the adorable pictures of the girls.
