Beatrix Potter's Easter Parade Tea

Last Saturday [4/1] my girlfriend and I traveled to East Lansing to attend another of Cristy Bennett's delightful teas.  I think the last tea I attended was her English Garden Tea in June of 2016, so I've missed a few and it was good to be back.

Cristy's teas always appeal to all the senses, and the first sense was visual as we approached her front porch.  It definitely looked like spring had sprung at Hill Top Farm in England's Lake District where Beatrix Potter lived.  Beatrix would have loved all the "Cottontail Family" [Peter, Benjamin, Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail] decor, both outside and inside.

As you may recall from previous posts featuring Cristy's teas, she decorates the entire first floor of her home to coordinate with the theme of the tea.  So once we stepped inside, this is what we saw - a decorated staircase...

The perfect corner for bunnies to take up residence!

Moving into the dining room, the tops of two antique china cabinets were decorated.

Even the powder room was decorated!  Have you even seen so many bunnies?

My place setting, complete with a personalized menu card!

Notice the bunny napkins!

The menu card, flower pot filled with candy, and egg cup with a fresh daffodil were ours to take home.

We began with a toast of chilled Sparkling White Grape & Elderberry Juice.

The tea served throughout the meal was Goji Berry Green Tea from Tealightful Teas.

Even the sugar had carrots in it!

The Soup and Scone Course consisted of a Carrot Cake Pinwheel Scone and a chilled Garden Gazpacho Soup.

The Main Course was a crustless Three-Cheese Spinach Quiche, Hash Brown Ramekin Casserole, and a Carrot-Pineapple Salad.  Everything was delicious.

Desserts were Peter Rabbit's Carrot Patch Cupcake, a Chocolate dipped Strawberry, and a Storybook Shortbread Cookie.

It was a wonderful afternoon. Thank you, Cristy, for all your hard work. It is greatly appreciated and enjoyed!
