Tuesday, August 18th, Linda Pudlik coordinated a tea at the Royal Treat Tea Room in Roseville, MI with the theme Celebrating Julia Child. 33 ladies attended, and I was the speaker. I arrived a little early, and took a photo of the tea room before all the ladies arrived.
~ Below are photos of the tea room filled with guests ~
You meet the nicest people over tea, and the lady in the black hat below is Barbara, who I've had the privilege of enjoying a few tea outings with.

The tea room serves a variety of delicious quiches - so appropriate for a Julia Child tea - and our table's tea of choice was Lady Grey. Julia detested 'junk food', but she did like Pepperidge Farm goldfish crackers, so I assembled a small bag of them for each lady to take home.
Linda's granddaughter, Jamison, was at the tea celebrating her 10th birthday, and she passed out the goldfish crackers. She's a very sweet little girl who loves tea parties!
My dear friend, Lori, who took photos for me throughout the event.
~ My presentation was taken from Julia's biography "Appetite for Life" ~
I thoroughly enjoyed researching Julia. It was very difficult condensing almost 92 years of her amazing and adventurous life into a brief presentation.
I strive to not only be entertaining, but to send attendees away with interesting information they didn't know before they came. Hope I accomplished that!
Shortly before the date of the tea, I came home to find a package on my front porch. When I opened it I found two Julia Child books from one of my blog readers. Thanks so much, Laura Lee!

Today I'm joining Rose Chintz Cottage for Tea Time Tuesday
Oh, what fun! One of my favourite treats is quiche and I very seldom get to enjoy it. Up until about a couple of years ago, my hubby didn't like it but will try it now so it's looking promising. The tea room is wonderful. I wish I could have been there to sip tea and listen to your presentation. I'm sure you did a splendid job! And how lovely to arrive home to find a gift on the doorstep. Thanks for sharing.

Enjoyed the tea and the wonderful presentation on Julia Childs. The tea and scones were very good.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty tea room! I would love to have been present to hear you speak. Love your hat!
ReplyDeleteAnother fun tea! I recently tried Pepperidge Farm's goldfish crackers and was pleasantly surprised to discover that they were quite tasty!
ReplyDeleteYou always go to the most fun places. Love the tea party. Have a great week. Hugs, Martha
ReplyDeleteSo wish I lived close enough that I could attend your educational programs! (And how fun to know that Julia Child liked Goldfish!)
