Ginger's Cafe and Gourmet Shoppe

Yesterday my friend, Linda, and I went to Ginger's Cafe & Gourmet Shoppe in Farmington, MI for lunch.  When I first became smitten by tea back in the 90's the establishment was Mrs. Lovell's Tea Cozy, and it was my all-time favorite tea room. Sadly, Mrs. Lovell died, and the business changed hands a few times.  Ginger purchased the establishment in 2008. This was my first return visit since Mrs. Lovell was the owner.

The house was built in 1895, and is located on Grand River Avenue.

The tea we ordered was Ginger Peach, served in a Lenox teapot, Butterfly Meadow pattern.

I ordered a Broccoli Cheddar Quiche Tart and Garden Salad with Raspberry Vinaigrette Dressing.  It was very good.

Dessert was toasted slices of Lemon Pound Cake with a Caramel Sauce and Vanilla Ice Cream.

Our server, Patty, took our picture.

From Ginger's we went to a nearby florist called The Vines

Sandi at Rose Chintz Cottage blog recently featured a Fairie Christmas Tea, so I was intrigued to see a room at the florist shop specifically devoted to fairies. The owner gave me permission to take pictures.

It was a very enjoyable day!

  2. You know the most wonderful tea establishments. Perhaps I will get there on day as I'm located about an hour away from Farmington.
