I purchased a small, red transferware tureen on E-bay, and it arrived on New Year's Eve. It's a repro, not vintage, and was classified as new. [But it looks vintage, don't you think?] I envision it being used for an individual serving of soup. I'll have to keep my eyes open for more at local shops, because the shipping is almost half the price of the tureen. The hunt is part of the fun anyway!
Tray
A Royal Coat of Arms shield is stamped on the back, but it doesn't specifically say Made in England. Regardless, it's a nice addition to my red transferware collection, and the quest continues. ;-)
Carolyn Aiken has alot of these! Looks wonderful -
ReplyDeleteWill be fun to use!
I really love this red and white transferware!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet tureen! I've never seen any that small and red transferware, too! What a great find! I can see why you would want more. Have a good night!

It's beautiful and will go well with your vintage pieces. I actually found some red transferware at Tuesday Morning recently, a dinner plate, cup, and saucer was 4.99 with 10% off...they had two sets and I bought them both! Happy Hunting!
ReplyDeleteYour tureen and tray are adorable! Just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great piece! Wouldn't it be fun to collect enough of these to host a small luncheon? Hmmm ...
ReplyDeletePhyllis,
ReplyDeleteWere you ever able to find out who the manufacturer is? I have a tea mug (in a blue and green wallpaper pattern) with the same maker's mark. I'd love to find more pieces in this pattern. I purchased my mug in a museum gift shop.
