A Productive Planning Meeting

On Thursday, January 22, six of us gathered at the former home of J.L. Hudson [founder of Detroit's legendary department store], and current home of  Sisters, Home Visitors of Mary, to finalize plans for the fundraiser tea to be held at the home on February 15, 2015.

Sister Rosemarie had teacups and desserts ready and waiting for our arrival, and I brought the tea that will be served at the fundraiser.

The money from the fundraiser will go towards purchasing books for the children at Little Angels school in Benue, Nigeria.

It will be a delightful afternoon with tea, savories [sandwiches] and desserts, followed by a presentation about J.L. Hudson, his home, and his magnificent department store. Minimum suggested donation is $30 per person, and reservations can be made by calling 313-869-2160.  One of the Sisters will be happy to add your name to the reservation list.  The event begins at 2:00 p.m.

The 1907 home is beautiful, and attendees will have the opportunity to tour the first floor. The address is 121 East Boston Boulevard [off Woodward Ave.] in the Arden Park East Boston Historic District.  The district was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1982, and is also a Michigan State Historic Site.  There are 92 homes in the district, all located on East Boston and Arden Park Boulevards.

Not only will it be an enjoyable afternoon, but attendees will have the privilege of helping to support a very worthy ministry.  Please call to make your reservation today.
