Sunday Reflection...

I've been reading the Book of Matthew in my devotions.  Jesus says in Chapter 5 that Christians are to be the light of the world.  To clarify what He meant, He gave a homespun example by saying people don't light a lamp and put it where it can't be seen.  Instead  they place it on a stand where it gives light to everyone in the room.  In the same way Christians are to be light bearers to everyone they come in contact with so God's love can be seen shining through them, and He will be praised.

Christ's command to be the light of the world reminds me of a question I read in Decision Magazine many years ago:  If you were arrested for being a Christian would there be enough evidence to convict you?

My prayer is the words to a little song I learned in Sunday School as a young girl:  This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine.  Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine!

May God bless your week!

  1. Matthew is one of my favorite gospels. I remember that song! One of the first I learned as a new Christian. Have a blessed day.
