Sunday Reflection...

The ground is covered with snow in Michigan right now, which is fitting for January. Snow is so pristine and unblemished, just like the new year that lies ahead.

My girlfriend and I got together last Friday and exchanged 'extended' Christmas presents.  One of the gifts she gave me was a devotional book titled, Jesus Calling by Sarah Young.

In the introduction Sarah talks about the importance of spending time alone with God in quiet, uninterrupted communion, and enjoying the peace that comes from being in His presence.

I'm reminded that a close relationship with God is much more than giving Him a list of requests. It's listening, through reading His Word, and prayer [dialogue not monologue], and coming to Him with an open mind and teachable spirit that's eager to be changed.

I'm looking forward to this devotional book enriching my spiritual journey through 2015.

May God bless your week!
