Shopping at Trader Joe's

Three days ago I received November's online Trader Joe's "Fearless Flyer," so this afternoon I decided to drive to their Grosse Pointe store located in "The Village," - a quaint, upscale shopping area. I wish I would have taken my camera along to photograph the area to share with you.  Next time!

I could have bought a lot of things at Trader Joe's, but I limited myself to three items.  [1] Instant Pumpkin Spice Chai tea latte mix, which has 140 calories per 6 oz. cup.  It sells for 3.99 a can and yields 8 cups.  It's worth every penny!

[2] Iced Pumpkin Scone Cookies.  Two scone cookies have 120 calories.  There are 16 in a package priced at $3.49.  Two cookies is just the right amount to accompany a cup of chai.

[3] A can of aluminum free baking powder, as it's not always available in a regular supermarket.   It is said scones are lighter and higher when aluminum free baking powder is used.

Check out these items at your nearest Trader Joe's store.  You'll be glad you did!

  1. I bought some wonderful spiced tea at Trader Joe's in Atlanta last week - their brand. (I forget the name right now) I love to go there, unfortunately there is not one close to me. Next time I will look for some of that baking powder - who needs aluminum in their baking powder anyway? Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

  2. Living in Montreal, Canada, we don't have a Trader Joe's, but I love this post. Thank you so much for sharing.

  3. Wish we had a Trader Joe's in our area. Whenever we are out-and-about, if we spot one, we always stop!
