Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Hope it's been a good St. Patrick's Day for you.  It's been a busy day for me, but I managed to bake some Irish Soda Bread.  I tried a new recipe this year which is different from the one I normally use [from the Silver Palate Cookbook], but they're equally good.  The recipe called for a 9-inch pan and I only have 8-inch and 10-inch pans, so I opted to use the 10-inch pan.

My thoughtful girlfriend gave me two more vintage glass shamrock dishes to add to my collection.

My cousin shared a beautiful St. Patrick's post on his Facebook page this morning, and I thought it was worthy of  sharing here.

"I know for certain, that before I was humbled I was like a stone lying in deep mire, and He that is mighty came and in His mercy raised me up and, indeed, lifted me high up and placed me on top of the wall.  And from there I ought to shout out in gratitude to the Lord for His great favours in this world and forever, that the mind of man cannot measure."

Amen! St. Patrick!  We are all recipients of God's great grace, mercy, and love.

  1. I'm catching up on blog reading - I seem to have stopped getting email notices - so I'm late reading this but I enjoyed it even though it's April now. Cute glass shamrocks looked great on your table.
