Landon's Turn for a Visit

Since Izzy came for a visit, it was only fair that her seven year old brother, Landon, come for a few days.  I picked him up last Thursday at 1:00 o'clock.  We dropped his things off at the house and then went to the theater to see the same movie Izzy and Brooke saw - The Secret Life of Pets.

You can't watch a movie without popcorn and pop [actually a Coke icy].

Landon loves dogs so it was the perfect movie for him.

Friday was a visit to the community pool.  We stayed 3 1/2 hours and he loved every minute.

He even went on the huge water slide.

Pool at the bottom of the slide.   He loved the slide and went on it several times.

While Landon enjoyed the pool, I read some of Julia Child's biography, Dearie. She's such a fascinating and remarkable woman, and she loved tea!

Friday night was Brooke's 14th birthday party.  The theme was Cake Boss.  Each of Brooke's girlfriends got to decorate their own cake to take home.  How fun!

Saturday we went to breakfast, then Papa took Landon 'back to school' shopping.

Saturday afternoon/evening were rainy, so I took him to Family Video to pick out a DVD to watch. He loves whales and sharks so decided on "Big Miracle".  Released in 2012, it's the true story about a family of gray whales trapped in rapidly forming ice in northern Alaska, and the rescue effort to save them.  It starred Drew Barrymore.   He liked his movie choice.

On the way home from Family Video we saw a rainbow, and discussed that it was a promise from God that He would never destroy the whole earth by water/flood again.  Love those little teachable moments!

Sunday morning we went to church, and afterwards while I fixed dinner Landon enjoyed our neighbor's Husky puppy, Sky.

We met up with his parents and sisters at an ice cream shop after dinner, and then it was time for him to go home.   He had a good time, and we enjoyed having him.

  1. What a fun visit with Landon, Phyllis, and what a special grandma you are! I'm sure he enjoyed his time alone with you and your hubby. Brooke's birthday theme sounded like such fun. I will have to remember that one.
Also, the Tea Time Celebrations looks like a nice publication.
