Celebrating Another Birthday!

At 10:25 a.m. my odometer "officially" rolls over another year!  The time between birthdays seems to get shorter every year.  My life began at Lincoln Hospital, 1051  25th Street, Detroit, MI, but the hospital closed in the late 1960's or early 1970's when many other small, independent hospitals closed. No photos of the hospital exists on the Internet, and it's probably demolished now.

My mother was great at documenting my birthdays through photographs. I had fun looking through them, and decided to post a few.

~ 1st Birthday ~

~ 2nd Birthday ~

~ 3rd Birthday ~

~ 4th Birthday Party ~
[My brother next to me.]

Photo 1: Remember the game, "Pin the Tail on the Donkey?"  Looks like a helping hand was needed to guide me to the right door!  Does that game still exist? Do you like my mini-skirt? Who knew they were popular in 1951 too!  ;-) Photo 2: By the expression on my face, I really liked whatever was in that package!

~ 5th Birthday ~
[My brother and my cousin celebrating with me.]

~ 6th & 7th Birthday ~
[My wonderful family - father, grandmother, aunts, cousins, and brother.]

Notice how dressed up the adults were for a child's birthday party?  How times have changed! Black and white film was the norm back then, and digital cameras didn't exist. Yikes!  I'm feeling old!

Back to 2014... I received many thoughtful birthday cards.

All of them were beautiful, and some were tea themed.  Thank you everyone!

I had to share a picture of some of my birthday gifts.  You'll notice I got Season IV of Downton Abbey. I may just have to jump ahead of the televised episodes on PBS and see the conclusion of the season ahead of schedule!  ;-)  Hubby also got me a DVD of Princess Diana's family home, Althorp - Secrets of the Spencers.  Some shopping is in my future with those gift cards. Probably something tea related at Home Goods!

Steve, my middle child, was creative with his birthday wishes today.  He's substitute teaching at Romeo High School today so he had the Spanish class sing Happy Birthday to me over the phone in Spanish. When they were done I said "Thank You!"  [speaker phone].   Steve said, "No, you have to say Gracias!"  ;-)

It's been fun having another birthday, and now onward and upward through another year!

I hope your birthday is wonderful! Your cards look great displayed on your china cabinet - I may have to borrow that idea in a couple of months. And where did you find those teapot tassels? I had to make the picture bigger to look at them! Adorable. Anyway, enjoy your day thoroughly.
