Michigan Tea Tour

I've been planning and preparing for the Michigan Tea Tour for several months, and day #1 is finally here!

Nine ladies [plus me] will be gathering later this afternoon, and I can hardly wait.  Three of the ladies have blogs that many of you probably read, so they'll most likely be blogging about the tea tour when they get back home.  Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Ontario, Canada and various parts of southeastern Michigan will be represented.

My girlfriend and I assembled gift bags for the participants on Monday. I'm hoping the ladies are busy with travel preparations today and won't have time to see this post!

When we finished the gift bags we went to Royal Treat tea room in nearby Roseville, MI, to reward ourselves with some girl time.   I've blogged about the tea room previously.

~ Yummy Scottish Scones ~

~ Raspberry Herbal Tea ~

~ And delicious Broccoli and Cheddar Quiche and Mixed Greens with Fruit Salad ~

The tea tour will culminate on Mackinac Island where we'll have Afternoon Tea at the Grand Hotel.  Our 15-passenger van has a TV, so I purchased the DVD Somewhere in Time that was filmed at the Grand to watch on our way up to northern MI.

Tea and friendship are the 'connectors' bringing us together for five, fun, tea-filled days. Because of the tea tour, I'll be taking a break from blogging and will resume next week.  I promise to share all the details with lots of pictures.

  7. Spending a few minutes before breakfast visiting blogging sisters and I'm glad I didn't see this post before arriving in Michigan. The gift bags have wonderful treats and Michigan themed goodies, thank you Phyllis and Lorrie for your help in assembling them.
Last night was so much fun at the chocolate and tea pairing and today I'm looking forward to shopping and afternoon tea.
