Happy December 1st, 2020

It's hard to believe we've entered into the month of December already, and Christmas is just 24 days away.  My hubby decorated the outside of our house on Saturday because snow was forecasted yesterday.  I haven't done any 'in person' Christmas shopping yet, but I have ordered some gifts online.

I've been waiting for December 1st to open my Tea Advent Calendar from Adagio Teas, and the first tea to usher in December is Spiced Apple Chai.

They sent me loose tea as opposed to a tea sachet.  I like being able to see the tea and spices before steeping it.  The aroma of the dry leaf, spices and pieces of dried apple are lovely.  There are actually whole cloves in the blend, not surprising since it is a chai tea.

I steeped the tea in my Bodum infuser basket and clear glass mug before transferring it to my porcelain teacup with wintry snowmen.

The teacup seemed appropriate since we got our first significant snowfall during the night.

The aroma of the brewed tea is as delightful as the dry leaf.  The taste of apples is in the background, because the spices - cloves in particular - are dominant, but that's expected from a chai tea.  I didn't add any sweetener or milk.  I enjoyed the tea and felt it was a perfect beginning to December.

I sipped it along with my usual breakfast of pumpkin oatmeal topped with blueberries.  Now I'm off to the discount craft store to purchase baskets and supplies for The Whitney's December Tea-To-Go promotion.

Back home from the craft store...  I only bought enough supplies for five baskets since there are no cash refunds at the store.  I have to make sure my boss approves of what I bought before getting too many supplies.

The Christmas teacups are at The Whitney.  I'll take a picture of a finished basket after I assemble one tomorrow.   The scones and pastries will go in a separate bakery box.

  1. I also bought an Adagio Advent tea calendar and I started it today. Interestingly, the tea behind my #1 window was "Cranberry". Is it possible they vary the arrangements of the tea? Kind of unique.

  2. Your tea sounds delightful and I'm sure the tea baskets will be lovely. We got a dusting of snow here Monday evening, just enough to look Christmas-y, and it's really cold this morning. Hello, December!
