Three States and Two Tea Rooms in One Day!

My dear friend, Mary Jane, who lives in Virginia, picked us up at our hotel on Thursday morning, April 9th, to take us on an exciting day trip that included 11:30 a.m. reservations at Serenity Tea Room in Frederick, Maryland.

Before we got to Serenity Tea Room, however, Mary Jane stopped at a cute antique shop in Lucketts, Virginia called On a Whim.

Mary Jane's favorite color is pink, so it's easy to see why she likes this shop.

The mannequin below greeted us at the entrance of the shop which sells cottage, shabby chic, traditional and eclectic items.

~ Loved this cute apron! ~

I saw lots of cute things, but didn't make any purchases.  Then we were off for Frederick, Maryland.

Linda and Sandy put coins in the parking meter in front of Serenity Tea Room in the photo below.

After a fabulous Afternoon Tea we walked across the street to The Emporium Antique Mall.

This time I didn't leave empty handed.  I purchased a porcelain tea trivet, and two red transferware demitasse cups.  Since we were flying back home I couldn't make any large purchases.

When we left the antique mall we headed for Gettysburg, Pennsylvania - tomorrow's post.

  1. Great fun! that's my kind of tea travel schedule!

  2. Now that's a fun tea time, for sure! Very jealous that you got to visit with Mary Jane and visit that adorable pink shop -- delightful!

  3. That tea room is lovely and oh, did that food look good! So glad you could enjoy it. And I love your purchases. (We do have similar tastes, it seems.) Another fun day!

  4. Your photos of tea at Serenity Tea Room make me want to return as soon as possible! It has been several years since I enjoyed tea there, but will put it on the 'to do' list!

  5. I love those red china cups, I really don't see enough red china these days!

  6. Lovely pictures...what spreads were on the ham and the other open face with something red on it....curious what it was? Looks tasty!
