Mackinac Island, Michigan

On 7/11 I blogged about The Grand Hotel's Tea Garden, so today I decided to share my granddaughter, Tiffany's photos of her recent trip to Mackinac Island.

Below is the Mackinac Bridge [dubbed "The Mighty Mac"].  It's the 3rd largest suspension bridge in the world, spanning the Straits of Mackinac, and connecting Michigan's Upper and Lower Peninsulas.  It was built in 1957, and is the scariest bridge I've ever traveled across!

You KNOW the photo below is my favorite one!   Tiffany said she posed by the sign because she knew I'd like it. ;-)  Of my three oldest granddaughters, she enjoys tea and its the refined attributes the most.   The tea room is by Fort Mackinac, and is run by the Grand Hotel.  I have never visited it, but I need to!

No cars are allowed on the Island, so you either walk, ride a bike, or depend on horses for transportation.  The Grand Hotel is in the background.

Tiff loves horses, so horseback riding on the Island was a highlight for her.

After her boyfriend, John, of course!
