A Surprise Package

Yesterday UPS delivered a package.  When my hubby brought it to me I wondered what it could be since I wasn't expecting a delivery.  The best way to find out was to open it!  A Spode box was tucked inside a Macy's box.

Inside the Spode box was a beautiful blue Italian transferware "square rim dish".

A thoughtful gift from Angela and Alex McRae.  Isn't it lovely!

I'm not sure yet where I'm going to display it, but for now it's on a table in my living room entryway.  I don't want to set anything inside it to obscure the scene.  Thank you so much Angela and Alex! What a nice keepsake from your recent visit.  Surprises are so much fun!

After unwrapping my surprise package we headed over to Applebee's for dinner.  Our appetizer was Spinach and Artichoke Dip with Tortilla Chips, and our main entree was Oriental Chicken Salad with Peach Iced Tea.  Yum!  What tea are you drinking these warm summer days?  I love summer, and can't believe we're to the half-way point of July already.

  1. What a lovely gift! Perfect for you. I'm drinking iced tea these days for sure - various flavors, always cold. We had a mild June but this month feels like summer for sure.

  2. Oh, wow, I didn't expect to see that here! But it did occur to me that it might serve up a casserole or brownies or something for your Bible study ladies sometime. (I have such fond memories of all your beautiful blue wares, truly some of the prettiest teawares I have *ever* set eyes on!) As far as iced tea, I've been blending leftover bits and making my own ... like a green tea mixed with leftover peach tea, etc. I find these miscellaneous iced teas a great way to keep from tossing out pantry teas that have been a little forlorn.
