Chinese New Year at P.F. Chang's

The Chinese New Year - Year of the Rooster - was officially January 28th.  It's a festival celebrated by 1/5th of the world's population.

One of Jerry's and my favorite restaurants is P.F. Chang's, and we received two gift cards to the restaurant for Christmas.  Life has been busy, and we didn't make it there to acknowledge the Chinese New Year until yesterday afternoon, but anytime's a good time to eat at P.F. Chang's!

Laura Lee, one of my blog readers, knows I've blogged about going to P.F. Chang's and she sent me a coupon for a free appetizer, so yesterday's meal was free [to us] thanks to the generosity of family and friends.  In my opinion, all other Chinese restaurants pale in comparison to P.F. Chang's.

We began with a pot of my favorite tea the restaurant offers - White Tangerine.  I love their cast iron tetsubin teapots that keeps the tea very hot.  The tetsubin I purchased before Christmas is exactly like those at P.F. Chang's.

Our appetizer was Lettuce Wraps.  Thank you, Laura Lee!  ;-)

I'm very predictable.  When I find a favorite I stick with it, so my entree was Sesame Chicken with Brown Rice.  It was sooo good.   Lunch portions are the perfect size and don't require carry-out containers.

We came home to have our dessert of chocolate fudge cake left over from Tuesday ladies' Bible study.  It was a fun afternoon!

On another subject, Punxsutawney Phil [Pennsylvania's weather predicting groundhog] saw his shadow this morning so there'll be six more weeks of winter [and probably more in Michigan!].   Ug!  I'm off to make myself another cup of Chai tea to console myself.

  1. I have heard of P.F. Chang's (maybe from your past posts), but I've never eaten at one, so now I'm going to have to see where the nearest one is located. I LOVE Chinese food!
