Tuesday was Bible study at my house, and we continued on in the Book of Revelation.
Like last month, I only served tea and a dessert. Dessert was a fluffy cheesecake from a recipe I've had for more than 50 years. It came from my girlfriend's mother-in-law. It's light and fluffy because Carnation evaporated milk is whipped until stiff and blended into cooled lemon jello and Philadelphia cream cheese. The fact that it's no-bake makes it easy, but it does require chilling overnight.
I used my Royal Albert Old Country Roses china. My neighbor asked how many sets of dishes I have because I haven't repeated using any sets yet. One of my girlfriends always says if you count the things in a collection that means it's an obsession, so I've never counted my dishes. But this was our 17th Bible study, so my love for dishes probably borders on obsession whether I count them or not! ;-)
My girlfriend, Lori, brought a box of Macarons that she purchased at Sam's Club and they were very good. They come in four flavors - chocolate, vanilla, raspberry and pistachio. They're in the freezer section if you want to check them out.
The tea I served was Mariage Fréres Marco Polo [a black tea]. The only place I'm aware of where it can be purchased in the United States is The Cultured Cup in Dallas, TX. It's a very good tea.
