At 10:25 this morning my birth odometer rolled over another year. I'll gratefully take every birthday granted to me.
After church Jerry and I went out to dinner with Steve & Sharon, and Samantha, Izzy, & Landon. Lori texted this morning that she came down with a migraine headache last night and was too ill for her and Dave to join us. We'll go out to dinner with them later on this week.
I ordered Chicken Marsala for dinner, and the Tiramisu dessert was yummy too!
Steve reminded me this morning that I share a birthday with Ronald Reagan and Babe Ruth, and on this day in 1952 Queen Elizabeth II ascended to the throne after the death of her father. I loved seeing all the pictures of her reign on Facebook.
My hubby gave me a beautiful 14K Gold Freshwater Pearl Station Necklace. I had a less expensive one from my high school days and lost it. I think the clasp must have come undone while I was wearing it, so this is a much nicer replacement.
If you sent a card, it's pictured here. Thank you for thinking of me.
Jeremy took Ellie on a Daddy/Daughter trip to Chicago this morning, but before they left he took her to see Lion King at the Detroit Opera House last night.
He sent several pics taken throughout the day enroute to Chicago and after they arrived. Not included in this post is the home Michael Jackson grew up in, Gary, Indiana and the first McDonald's restaurant franchise that opened in April 1955 in Des Plaines, Illinois. The company headquarters is in Chicago.
Ellie in front of the house where Home Alone was filmed.
The Sears/Willis Tower - the second tallest building in North America - loomed over the Chicago skyline as they drove into the City. It is 110 stories high and 1,353 feet tall. They took a picture in the glass balcony located on the 103rd floor. Not sure I'd be brave enough to do that, would you?
They ended their day having Chicago Deep-Dish Pizza at Giordanos.
I'll see them next Sunday night at a Super Bowl party at their house. I'm so pleased it's a priority with Jeremy to make wonderful memories with his children.
Thanks to everyone who made my birthday a special day with cards, phone calls, texts and Facebook wishes. I loved a phone call from granddaughter, Tiffany, with Evie and Juliette singing 'Happy Birthday' when I said hello. I am very blessed.
I'll close with something I saw on Facebook this morning that brought a smile to my face.
Wishing you happiness and blessings throughout your birthday year. God Bless.

Oh, I identify with that 9 PM quote! I'm so glad you had a good birthday and that the celebration will continue. And it is wonderful that your son is making memories with his children. You taught him well. Happy birthday to you, and many more!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to you. Have a wonderful year. You also share a birthday with Tom Brokaw. I know that because my niece was born on February 6th and she always remarked that she shared her birthday with Ronald Reagan and Tom Brokaw.
