Evie's 1st Birthday

I haven't blogged on Sundays for quite awhile, but today is an exception.  Our great-granddaughter, Evelyn Rose [Evie] celebrated her first birthday on May 23rd while we were away on the tea trip.  Below is the photo Tiffany posted on Facebook the day of her birthday.

The theme for her party was "Our Little Sunshine."  I'm glad we were back home for her party yesterday.

Time to open presents!

Strung across the mantel [seen in background] are pictures of Evie in sunshine frames from birth up until now.  Such a cute idea!

We got her clothes and a Fisher Price chatter telephone.  No surprise - she liked the phone much better than the clothes. ;-) While we were at Paula Deen's store in Savannah, I bought her a pink onsie with white pearls printed on it and the words [in hot pink]  Hi Y'all.  It was so cute, but I forgot to take a picture of it.

She got a pink chair from her other great-grandma who came all the way from New York for the party.

Our granddaughter, Ellie, who will celebrate her 6th birthday on July 4th.

Time for her very own birthday cake.

Her temperament is so mild, that I would have been surprised if she aggressively delved into the cake.  And she didn't.  She daintily dabbed at it with her fingers.

Four generations - Evie, Tiffany and her sister, Marissa, Lori and Me.

It was such a fun day.  Thank you for your first birthday party, Evie!
