Last Thursday, Dec. 8th, I attended the 2nd Annual Holiday Splendor Tea at Pine Lake Country Club to benefit the Governor Warner Mansion.
It's 25 miles to the country club from my house, and last Thursday was our first significant snowfall. As I arrived at Pine Lakes Country Club it was as if Mother Nature was singing, "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!" If you look closely you can see the snow falling.
It was beautifully decorated when I stepped inside. Christmas truly is the most wonderful time of the year!
~ There were lots of Christmas poinsettia plants. ~
The tea/luncheon began at 11:00 a.m., but before it began there were raffle and silent auction items to view.
Aren't the Byers' Caroler figurines below adorable? I didn't win them, but some lucky lady did.
~ I was seated at table #1 that overlooked the patio and Pine Lake. ~
~ The banquet room was festive. ~
Linda Pudlik is on the planning committee, and greeted guests as they arrived. She sparkled!
~ Joanie, a beautiful lady and friend who volunteers at the Warner Mansion. ~
~ Friends Louise and Verna ~
~ Judi and Barb ~
~ Linda and Me ~
~ 'Starters' were Banana Bread and mini Cinnamon Rolls ~
The luncheon began with Butternut Squash Bisque. I forgot to take a picture until I was half-way through, and a half-filled bowl isn't photogenic! The main entree was Chicken Piccata with Whipped Potatoes and Roasted Vegetables - Carrots and Asparagus. It was served with Christmas Sparrow black tea that was specially blended for the occasion by Mary Jones of Intu Tea.
Dessert was a decadent Chocolate Brownie, topped with Vanilla Ice Cream, Chocolate Sauce, and Whipped Cream.
The event was well-attended, and was a successful fundraiser for the Warner Mansion. It was a lovely way to spend an afternoon, and get into the Christmas Spirit.
That looks like a lovely luncheon in a beautiful setting!
