A Spur-of-the-Moment Tea

I haven't seen my kindred spirit [girlfriend, Lori] since we attended the Clara Ford tea on May 5th.  Since this is a slow holiday week at The Whitney, I'm not scheduled to work until Friday.  So yesterday Lori and I decided on an impromptu tea at Royal Treat tearoom in nearby Roseville, MI.

There were only three other small groups having tea when we arrived, so we practically had the place to ourselves.  It was the perfect setting for getting caught up.

I ordered Lady Grey and Lori ordered an Hibiscus Herbal.

Selection of yummy scones.

Nothing better than tea-time with a good friend!  We both had Royal Albert teacups.  Lori's pattern was Heirloom, and mine was Old Country Roses.

We each ordered a slice of Broccoli/Cheddar Quiche with a garden salad. Our bodies were not only nourished, but our souls too as we spent a couple of hours enjoying each other's company.

I spent most of today shopping for granddaughter Ellie's 7th birthday present.  She was born on the 4th of July.  When I was with her last weekend I asked her to give me a list of things she wanted, and I managed to get four of them.  She wanted flip-flops, a hat, a book and a storage basket for her toys.  The dress was my idea.  ;-)

I found the book at Barnes & Noble - Disney's Fancy Nancy, My Fanciest Things.   It's so cute and even has tea in it.

Looking forward to celebrating Ellie's 7th birthday tomorrow, and the 243rd birthday of our country.  Proud and blessed to live in America!
