A Snowflake Fairy Fantasy Tea

Saturday I traveled to East Lansing to attend Cristy Bennett's Christmas Tea.  Her theme was Snowflake Fairy Fantasy, and it was beautiful.

Snowflakes were dangling from the porch of her cottage style house, and the ground had a light covering of real snowflakes to help carry out the theme.

Inside everything was beautifully decorated in a soft shade of aqua blue, silver, and white.

And now for the tablescape...

I normally go to Cristy's teas with one of my girlfriends, and I took my daughter, Lori, to the last one - Phantom of the Opera.  For this tea, however, I was accompanied by my hubby, Jerry!  He got to see firsthand how special Cristy's teas are.

The high tea began with a toast of chilled, sparkling Apple-Pear Juice.

The tea served throughout the meal was White Christmas Spiced Hot Tea - Pai Mu Tan White Tea steeped with Cinnamon Sticks, Whole Cloves, Vanilla, Orange Slices and Dried Cranberries.

First course:  Creamy Mushroom-Brie Soup, served with a Blueberry and Lemon Pinwheel Scone and Lemon Curd.

Second course: Snowflake Gala Apple & Blueberry Salad, dressed with Blueberry Vinaigrette.

Third course:  Chicken and Broccoli Phyllo Strata, served with Hot Spiced Fruit Compote.

~ Dessert course:  Peppermint Candy Cane Cheesecake ~

We enjoyed pleasant conversation throughout the tea with two lovely sisters,  Cheryl and Ann.

Jerry and I thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon, but had to leave right after the dessert course was was served, because we had another very important event to attend after the tea - tomorrow's post.

Thanks for a wonderful year of teas, Cristy and David!  Christmas blessings to you, and I look forward to returning in 2016!
