Gethsemane
I've been using Oswald Chambers' book, My Utmost for His Highest, as my daily devotional book this year. It shines a challenging spotlight into my soul pinpointing areas that need improving.
Yesterday's devotion was a lead-in to Easter - Christ's agony in the Garden of Gethsemane. The scriptures that record His Gethsemane experience are found in Matthew 26: 36-39.
The agony of Gethsemane was the Son of God fulfilling His destiny as the Savior of the world. And because of what He went through, every human being has been provided with a way of access into the very presence of God. Gethsemane and Calvary are the gateway into life for us! What hope and promise we have through Jesus Christ our Lord!
May God bless your week!

I have a little book of daily passages from "My Utmost for His Highest" that I am using again this year - I read straight through it one year, but this year I am taking more time and trying to really absorb and understand his insights. This book is a challenge for me but I need that challenge. I have two other daily devotional books that are "easier" so I felt the addition of a deeper one would be good for me!
