After receiving my book, Downton Abbey, A Celebration, I 'googled' Jessica Fellowes, and discovered she'll be speaking at The MAC [McAninch Arts Center] on the campus of College of DuPage near Chicago, Illinois at the end of the month.
The description of her appearance reads: "Fellowes will take you behind the scenes and discuss all things 'Abbey.' Ticket includes English treats in the lobby after the show and book signing."
I was immediately sold on the idea of a road trip to Chicago to hear Jessica, and take in some Afternoon Tea activities in Chicago as well. When the ticket office confirmed there were still openings, I called a friend to go with me. Our tickets are purchased, and hotel reservations made. Now we just wait for the dates on the calendar to arrive. I'll definitely blog about the trip when I return.
On a different subject for readers of this blog who live in southeastern Michigan... Stein Mart has finally arrived in our area! Yay! I LOVE Stein Mart! I knew a new store was opening in Rochester Hills [Rochester and Avon Rds.] before Christmas, but yesterday was the first chance I had to visit. After all, a girl's got to have new clothes for a road trip, right?
With my hubby waiting in the car, I couldn't browse too long, but long enough to find a cute, comfortable outfit for traveling. I left the store with the promise, "I'll be back!"
From there we stopped at our favorite Chinese restaurant, and I raised my teacup to Stein Mart and the upcoming road trip!

Have a great weekend, everyone!
Sounds like a fun trip! Will look forward to hearing about it.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! Too bad I'm not on my way to Wisconsin at that time, or else I'd invite myself to stop off in Chicago and join you. (Love your new outfit, by the way. Stein Mart has such lovely things!)
ReplyDeleteThat's exciting Phyllis. I can't wait to hear all about this adventure. Be safe and have fun!
