Grace Kelly, The American Princess

I've been anxiously waiting for the movie, Grace of Monaco, with Nicole Kidman portraying Princess Grace, to be released in the U.S., but with all the negative reviews in Europe, the disapproval of Monaco's Royal Family, and Weinstein Company's pledge to make changes before releasing it here, who knows when that will be.

I wanted to spend yesterday afternoon watching the 1956 movie, High Society, which was Grace Kelly's last movie before marrying Prince Rainier, III of Monaco [also in 1956], but the local video store didn't have it.

Instead I watched Pierre Salinger's ABC 20/20 interview with Princess Grace just three months before her tragic death in September 1982.  What a lovely lady, and guess what? She was a tea drinker!

Rest in peace, Princess Grace! I'll look forward to writing a review on Grace of Monaco when it's released in the U.S.   Wonder if there'll be some tea scenes?

  4. Dear Phyllis,
I am so glad you posted this. I found it so interesting. What a beautiful, lovely, classy lady who died long before she should have. She was aptly named as Grace. I didn't remember hearing about the movie so I am so happy you told us about it. If you hear anything more, we would love to hear. I will be on the lookout.
I have a board about tea on Pinterest and have seen most of those pretty pix of her drinking tea.
    Thank you, Ruthie
