Sunday Reflection...

Today is the first Sunday of the Advent Season - four Sundays and 20 weekdays of expectant waiting and preparation for the celebration of the birth of Jesus at Christmas, as well as anticipating His second coming.

The Advent wreath is a circular garland of evergreen branches representing eternity.  It contains five candles with one candle lit each Sunday.

The first candle of Advent [purple, symbolizing royalty - Jesus is the King of kings] is called the "Prophecy Candle" in remembrance of the prophets, particularly Isaiah, who foretold the birth of Christ. It represents hope and anticipation of the coming Messiah.

May God bless your week as we enter this joyous and blessed time of the year!
