The countdown to Christmas is rapidly winding down. I finished two major projects this week with a huge sigh of relief.
One project was putting together 120 favors for guests who will attend The Whitney's Christmas Tea this Friday. I will deliver them to the restaurant tomorrow.
Here's a glimpse of an individual favor. It's the same favor we gave last Christmas. It contains chocolate candy and a 1/2 oz. package of our signature Mistletoe Kiss black tea. Guests will also take home a Christmas teacup.
The other project was decorating our 9 ft. Christmas tree. I wanted a new look this year and decided on red and green. It's no small task shopping for all new decorations. You may remember the photo below I posted recently - the 'before' picture.
Here's the 'after' picture. Hubby ordered multi-colored lights but they were defective and had to be returned, so I happily bought red and green ones in keeping with my theme. I'm very pleased with the way it turned out.
We decorated the mantel today and as luck would have it the multi-colored lights in the garland burned out so we replaced them with red and green too. I promise I didn't sabotage them!
We still have a little more decorating to finish, but we're seeing light at the end of the tunnel. Our sweet neighbor came over Sunday with some yummy goodies and a beautiful poinsettia plant.
I wrote out my Christmas Eve menu this morning and grocery shopped for some of it this afternoon. Hope to finish up tomorrow. Everything seems to fall into place once the menu has been determined.
It's been very quiet in blogland. Everyone must be as busy as me!
Your tree is truly spectacular! So many beautiful decorations. The final look was worth the time & effort you put into it. Now if there was only a way you could just plastic shrink wrap it at the end of the season and store like that.
ReplyDeleteYou got your red and green lights after all! And the tree is gorgeous.
