A Weekend of Fun Activities

Last Saturday was busy... 1:00 p.m. the 14th Annual Festival of Tables with the theme 'Tis the Season'; 5:00 p.m. the annual church hayride, chili cook-off, and Halloween trunk-or-treat; and Brooke's first Homecoming Dance [she's a high school freshman this year].

But before I share any of those events, I want to share a happy family announcement! Tiffany [my first-born granddaughter] and her husband, John, are expecting their first little pumpkin in May 2017. I got the 'green light' today to make this announcement. Congratulations Tiffany and John! I'm so happy for you both.  I'll be a great-grandma. Yikes! Where did the time go?  I vividly remember the day you were born.

Our church owns 24 acres of property where we will build our new sanctuary [we currently meet in a school].  Our property is where the annual fall activity was held.  It was a beautiful sunny day in the 50's, which was warm when the sun was shining, but when the sun went down it was chilly.

The hay wagon couldn't accommodate everyone in one ride, so there were multiple rides.

~ Bon Fire for roasting Hot Dogs and Smores [and to keep warm!] ~

Pastor Steve [L] and Gabe Marquez, our youth pastor.   It was a fun and well attended event.

Our youngest son, Jeremy, and his family weren't at our church activity. They had fun at their own fall apple picking tradition over the weekend.

Youngest granddaughter, Ellie [R], with her cousin on the Theisen side of the family.  It's hard to keep your eyes open when the sun is glaring into them.  ;-)

I attended the Festival of Tables with my girlfriend, Lori, and her granddaughter, Courtney.

It was held at a new venue this year - Assumption Cultural Center in St. Clair Shores, MI.

There were 32 tables which I will begin blogging about tomorrow.
