Even though the living room renovation project isn't totally finished yet, enough is completed to decorate for Christmas.
My hubby and I have been away a few days watching our three youngest grandchildren while our son and daughter-in-law took a trip to Miami, Florida to attend a Miami Dolphins football game.
Shortly after I returned home this afternoon, a gorgeous floral arrangement arrived. Thanks Paul, Ruth, and girls!
This is the first Christmas without my mother, so the 26-inch lighted, ceramic Christmas tree that decorated her living room since the early 1960's is decorating my living room.
A few Department 56 and Thomas Kinkade houses decorate the fireplace mantel in the family room. We didn't bring out my collection of ceramic tea rooms this year.
When I was at Barnes & Noble recently, I purchased Christmas at Downton Abbey CD's. I'm listening to the lovely music as I type this post. Very British!
I love that you have your mother's ceramic tree on display. I have some Christmas decorations of my mother's that I use each year - happy memories. Your mantel is lovely, and next year you can get reacquainted with all your tea houses. Have a wonderful Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI love your mother's tree that is on display. Our loved ones are never very far from our hearts, especially at this time of year!
