Chinese New Year at P.F. Chang's

The Chinese New Year - Year of the Rooster - was officially January 28th.  It's a festival celebrated by 1/5th of the world's population.

One of Jerry's and my favorite restaurants is P.F. Chang's, and we received two gift cards to the restaurant for Christmas.  Life has been busy, and we didn't make it there to acknowledge the Chinese New Year until yesterday afternoon, but anytime's a good time to eat at P.F. Chang's!

Laura Lee, one of my blog readers, knows I've blogged about going to P.F. Chang's and she sent me a coupon for a free appetizer, so yesterday's meal was free [to us] thanks to the generosity of family and friends.  In my opinion, all other Chinese restaurants pale in comparison to P.F. Chang's.

We began with a pot of my favorite tea the restaurant offers - White Tangerine.  I love their cast iron tetsubin teapots that keeps the tea very hot.  The tetsubin I purchased before Christmas is exactly like those at P.F. Chang's.

Our appetizer was Lettuce Wraps.  Thank you, Laura Lee!  ;-)

I'm very predictable.  When I find a favorite I stick with it, so my entree was Sesame Chicken with Brown Rice.  It was sooo good.   Lunch portions are the perfect size and don't require carry-out containers.

We came home to have our dessert of chocolate fudge cake left over from Tuesday ladies' Bible study.  It was a fun afternoon!

On another subject, Punxsutawney Phil [Pennsylvania's weather predicting groundhog] saw his shadow this morning so there'll be six more weeks of winter [and probably more in Michigan!].   Ug!  I'm off to make myself another cup of Chai tea to console myself.

Three Fun Days!

Friday, a beautiful floral arrangement was delivered.  It's so nice to see fresh flowers during Michigan's winter when no flowers exist outside.  Thanks Ruth, Paul and girls!

Late Friday afternoon Jerry and I went to P.F. Chang's for dinner.

The closest thing to a birthday tea party was the White Tangerine tea I ordered at P.F. Chang's.  It was wonderful!  Jerry ordered an iced mango flavored tea.

A perfect birthday dinner with my hubby, and a great fortune cookie message! ;-)

11:30 Saturday morning my daughter, Lori, had a planning meeting for Tiffany's Bridal Shower at the church fellowship hall. The shower will be May 30th.  We had lunch while we discussed the details, and the table was set with the colors that will be used for the shower - Tiffany Blue, Black and White.

Below are Tiffany's future mother-in-law, three sisters-in-law, and 1 year old niece, Ellie [Noelle]. Ellie's headband matched the color scheme perfectly.

Three older grandchildren were missing. Brandon and Marissa had to work, and Brianna is away at college in Nashville.

Opening presents - Lori got me sleepwear for our upcoming trip to England.

Pictures of Brianna and Brooke.  Love these!

Triple chocolate birthday cake.  What a wonderful afternoon with my family - the best gifts of all!
