This Saturday, my maternal aunt turns 90. She is the only one left of seven siblings - six years younger than my mother. I'm bummed that I have to miss her party, but I made other plans months ago. My hubby is going, and taking our daughter in my place. They'll tell me all about it.
I wanted to make a digital photo album for her [like I did for my paternal aunt when she turned 90 a year ago], but I ran out of time. Hopefully I'll get the project completed after the party. I'll share a few of my mom's pictures that will go in the album. My mom is on the far left below [with her hair in her eyes], and my aunt Frances is the cute little girl, right front.
My aunt and her brother when they made their first communion.
The entire Sullivan Family around 1943. My aunt Frances is in the white blouse. My mother is on the far right, standing behind her.
I put my aunt's high school graduation picture in a frame for Jerry to take to the party.
My aunt loves tea, so I made a tea-themed gift box for her. I was fortunate to find a Royal Albert 'Flower of the Month' teacup on E-bay.
Below are the 'before' and 'after' pictures of the gift box. Hidden from view are Walker's Shortbread Cookies, and Ferrero Rocher Chocolates. I hope she likes it.
My aunt is pictured below at a St. Patrick's tea I had for her and my mom in 2012.
Three years ago I took a surprise traveling tea party to my cousin's house [her daughter] on her 87th birthday.
She still lives alone, drives, and the last I heard she was still on a bowling league. Happy Birthday, Aunt Bobo [her nickname]! Raising my teacup to you!
