My England posts will continue after this post, but I'm interrupting to share two recent enjoyable activities.
Last Thursday we drove to East Lansing, MI to take our granddaughter, Isabella, to dinner to celebrate her 18th birthday. This is the first year we weren't able to celebrate her and her dad's birthday together, but Jeremy was out-of-town so we celebrated with him earlier in the month.
Izzy is a freshman at Michigan State this year and is adjusting to college life well. I can hardly believe she's a college student. The years have passed so quickly. We picked her up at her dorm.
Then we drove a short distance to Dublin Square Pub. They had just opened at 4:00 o'clock so we were their first customers that evening and had the place to ourselves. Izzy said later in the evening a line would wrap around outside of patrons [students and parents] waiting to get inside.
We each ordered something different and enjoyed our choices. Izzy ordered a non-alcoholic Shirley Temple - Sprite with Cherry Juice.
I saw this tea ad on the wall and had to take a picture of it. It was too late in the afternoon for me to order tea because I wanted to sleep later that night, but it was nice to know it was available.
We will definitely be taking Izzy back to Dublin Square in the future.
On Friday my dear girlfriend, Lori, picked me up to go to Royal Treat Tearoom for lunch and a time of catching up. We each got a wedge of quiche with a salad, and a pot of fruit flavored black tea.
We had a selection of scones to choose from, but we both really liked the pumpkin spice scone in the shape of a pumpkin.
One of God's greatest blessings is friendship, and I'm so thankful He allowed Lori's and my path to cross. We arrived at the tearoom around noon and talked until almost 3:00 o'clock and could have talked longer but they were getting ready to set up for a party. I'm so grateful for a kindred spirit friend who shares my love of tea, Jesus, family and SO much more!
(This is Joy). If I ever get to London I want to ride that bus! I enjoyed all your pictures.
ReplyDeleteComments are being weird - that last one was supposed to be a comment on a different day's post! Don't know how it threw me back to this one and won't let me enter my name. But I'm glad you had these 2 special times with special people. Joy
