So no memories here. I do remember making a prom dress for my daughter when the time came. Now that was a challenge as she want silk in a circle skirt. What lovely thoughts on proms.

There is a shopping mall nearby that had an empty building for awhile. Everytime I drove by it I would think now wouldn't that be fun to have a permanent Tea Ballroom. How fortunate that you were able to have your prom at Lovett Hall. I'm going to see if I can dig out some of my "prom" pictures. Our "proms" were essentially banquets -- without the dancing.La Tea Dahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03138624485398178242noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2019493705058948268.post-17197000108657843262013-04-08T11:32:50.235-04:002013-04-08T11:32:50.235-04:00This is a GREAT post, and I had no idea about the ...This is a GREAT post, and I had no idea about the connection between tea dances and proms. A wonderful photo of you two! Thank you very much. My high school had a tradition of all the girls wearing giant hoop skirts, which I protested (but secretly loved). I somehow managed to be prom queen, which surprised me because I wasn't in the popular cheerleader group. I think it's because I was friends with most everyone. A life lesson I've remembered.Stephhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05753205572837649406noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2019493705058948268.post-78688604706665355882013-04-08T10:46:54.501-04:002013-04-08T10:46:54.501-04:00Great post. In London at one time, Downton Era and for a bit after, they were the time for intrigue and dallying. They have gone from respectable to not so and back again. Fun!
RuthAntiques And Teacupshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00353180034537009493noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2019493705058948268.post-39080239943600615842013-04-08T10:38:40.022-04:002013-04-08T10:38:40.022-04:00Love your prom picture! My own senior prom was held in our high school gym, and I didn't attend - girls did NOT go in a group in those days, and I had was just starting to date my future (and now ex) husband. But I did enjoy seeing my children and their friends dressed up for their proms, and thankfully here, the students go to prom with groups of friends if they don't have "a" date. I agree with Ruthie, spending that much on a high school prom is over the top. We were certainly WAY under the average in spending, though - and they still managed to enjoy the occasions! :-) Joyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12990986767552423062noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2019493705058948268.post-21974218014973244262013-04-08T08:44:46.757-04:002013-04-08T08:44:46.757-04:00Dear Phyllis,
